2008 Winter Retreat Recap
Thanks to all who attended and helped with 2008 Winter Retreat "Wired WiFi" to make it a great success once again! 150 youth came together for a great time in worship, fellowship and service.
A huge "THANK YOU!" to the youth and adults for jumping in to lend a hand helping those affected by the tornadoes in the area. The Brushy community, as well as the towns of Centerville and Pleasantville continue to speak with tremendous apprecitation of your hard work and Christ like service during their time of need. Thanks again everyone for all you did for this community and for your amazing spirit of service!
Brushy, a community about 6 miles from NaCoMe, was hit with a devestating blow from the storms. Houses were wiped off their foundations, trees twisted and laid to the ground from their roots, families personal items blown into the woods and into their neighbor's yard, and yet there were no deaths, only minor injuries. The winter youth retreat participants stepped up to help. About 120 youth and adults headed to the damaged Brushy area to help with clean up efforts. Youth and adults also remained at NaCoMe where they spent their time putting together bedding packets and sorted through t-shirts. The group put together 20 packets (pillows, sheets, and blankets) along with bags of t-shirts that were delivered to local donation/collection places to help the community with recovery efforts.
Plan Your Retreat at NaCoMe!
Located just 12 miles west of Centerville and 16 miles east of Linden, Tennessee, NaCoMe Conference Center has served Presbyterians and their friends for over 60 years as a peaceful haven for those in search of spiritual and physical renewal. People also find the excellent food, hospitality, and the beautiful natural setting to be a relaxing change from their everyday lives.
NaCoMe's scenic location makes it ideal for outdoor events of all kinds. The climate controlled cabins and restored meeting facilities make it a year round destination for:
- Conferences: Host site for Cumberland Presbyterian Youth Conference for over 30 years; Host site for the University of Memphis Freshman Orientation Camp (Frosh Camp)
- Retreats: Session retreats, Choir retreats, Confirmation classes, Women's retreats, Men's Retreats, Youth Retreats, Churchwide Family Retreats
- Camps: Summer camping for children and youth of several denominations
- Football Camp: Host site to several highschool football camps. Summer of 2007 we hosted 5 different highschool teams from the Nashville area and other various counties in Tennessee who come year after year.
- Meetings: Presbyterian Women Gatherings, Schools, Scouts, Family reunions, Presbytery Meetings
- Environmental Education: Contact the camp office for more information about the N.E.E.D. (NaCoMe Environmental Education Destination ) Program. This program is open to all ages, schools, churches, businesses, preschools... Let us help "tailor" a program to your classroom or retreat group needs.

First Presbyterian Trenton Family Camp

Keeping the springs clean
HOG occurs the first weekend in March each year. Participants come from churches all over middle Tennessee. These individuals complete various projects around NaCoMe to help improve the camp.

Josh McClurkan does it the old fashioned way. What a mighty woodsman!
