          4th Grade Educational Standards:
GLE 0407.2.1- Analyze the effects of changes in the environment on the stability of an ecosystem.
0407.2.1- Analyze how an increase or decrease in competition or predation affects an ecosystem.
SPI 0407.2.1- Recognize the impact of predation and competition in an ecosystem.
0407.3.3- Classify organisms as carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores.
 
5th Grade Educational Standards:
GLE 0507.2.1- Investigate different nutritional relationships among organisms in an ecosystem.
0507.2.1- Evaluate producer/consumer, predator/prey, and parasite/host relationships.
GLE 0507.5.1- Investigate physical characteristics associated with different groups of animals.
0507.5.1- Classify animals according to their physical characteristics.
0507.5.2- Design a model to illustrate how an animal’s physical characteristics enable it to survive in a particular environment.

6th Grade Educational Standards:
GLE 0607.2.1- Examine the roles of consumers, producers, and decomposers in a biological community.
0607.2.1- Compare and contrast the different methods used by organisms to obtain nutrients in a biological community.
SPI 0607.2.1- Classify organisms as producers, consumers, scavengers, or decomposers according to their role in a food chain or food web.
