Canoe the Buffalo

Let NaCoMe help you add a river adventure to your retreat or bring your next youth, adult, church, or corporate retreat out for a river adventure and an over night stay at NaCoMe.

How to start your Buffalo River adventure:
Call NaCoMe (9331-729-9723) and let the Director or Program Director know that you would like to schedule a canoe trip on the Buffalo River.

We will then call the outfitter to set it all up for you.

Once at NaCoMe you will need to provide the transpotation for your group to the canoe site. A NaCoMe staff member will lead you there and will also accompany your group down the river.

Open to all families, corporate groups, youth groups, scout troops, and more...

Time Frame:
You will need to plan on a 40minute drive to and from the canoe site and at least 3 hours for the canoe trip itself (pending river flow and weather).

More details:
  • Trips can be scheduled in the morning or immediately following lunch.
  • Trips scheduled in the morning will require you to bring your lunch or... you may have NaCoMe provide a lunch for you at $6 per person (includes sandwich, chips, easy carry fruits and veggies, a dessert item, and a drink).
  • Everyone must wear a life jacket (provided by the outfitter)
  • Drinks and snacks are allowed on the trip, but all trash must be carried out and put in proper trash recepticles followin the trip
  • Proper water attire required (clothing you don't mind getting wet...long pants or heavy clothing of any kind should not be worn on the trip)
  • All participants must sign a wavier form with the outfitter before canoeing the buffalo. Children/Youth under the age of conscent must have their form signed by their parent/legal guardian.
  • The Buffalo is a good mix of current and flatwater that provides a great place to relax and recover from the excitement of the turns
  • Schedule for the outfitter is open year-round

Canoe Trip fees are:
$13 for ages 11 and up
$5 for ages 5-10 (will sit in the middle of the canoe, not allowed to paddle)
No one under the age of 5 allowed on the canoe trip.
